The body is also more simple. The doors here are usual hinged (in the P7 model the front doors go up), and instead of a solid glass roof there is only one "window" with a sliding curtain. The wheels are 17 or 18 inches in diameter. But the engineers have worked well on aerodynamics: the claimed Cd ratio is only 0,223. All electrical equipment is concentrated in the front compartment, so the only 450-liter luggage compartment is habitually located in the rear.

Features of the XPeng P5

Chinese company Xpeng Motors entered the market in 2017 and has not yet achieved much success. Last year, it sold only 27,000 electric cars of two models, the compact Xpeng G3 crossover and the large Xpeng P7 sedan. But the company's main investors include such giants as Alibaba and Foxconn, so there is no question of slowing down the pace. On the contrary, the company introduced a third model - the "junior" Xpeng P5 sedan. In fact, the "five" is a little more compact than the "seven". But the P5 has a more simple platform, unified with the crossover G3: it has an optional front-wheel drive, rear semi-independent suspension and good wheelbase.

The Xpeng P5 is equipped with an electric motor with 211 hp and 310 Nm. But there are three options for the traction battery. The basic one is lithium-iron phosphate with a capacity of 55.9 kW∙h, which should suffice for 460 km on the outdated NEDC cycle. The other two batteries are lithium-ion: the 66.2 kW∙h version provides 550 kilometers of range, while the 71.4 kW∙h version provides 600 kilometers of range. Although it is clear that in reality the maximum range is 400 km.

On the front panel there is a 12.3-inch dash screen and a 15.6-inch vertical tablet of the media system. The multimedia itself has a new in-house developed Xmart OS 3.0 shell, which supports over-the-air updates. The seats are also upholstered in nappa leather and the front seats are electrically driven.

Roomy and stylish interior

The five-seat interior is richly trimmed in leather and stylishly designed. The seats are quite spacious, and the roof window with an adjustable curtain adds light.
